Ah! Today. Today was the last day of K-4 school for Little 1. He has been going to the same school since he was a year and a half! It was an adorable day anyways. We started off by walking to school. I thought Little 1 would enjoy riding his bike to school. Too may uphills ha! Oh the pain and suffering. Poor thing. I gave him a couple of gummy bears to help him walk his bike up the hill. But he eventually just sat down on the stroller and I plopped his bike on top. Somehow I managed to run while pushing 3 kids and a bike. Craziness. So dropped him off at school and then finished my run home. Then the 3 of us stayed outside for a little while digging holes. Little 2 loves to dig. In fact, he is a really good digger. He leaves little trails of dirt everywhere! It is pretty frustrating! I try to blow the dirt, wash the dirt off the sidewalk and keep mulch inside the planting areas and he comes along and unearths everything. I figure I will miss that when he is older. So I try to direct him- have him help me dig holes for plants, tell him where to put the dirt etc. Still I have little mud piles everywhere. ha! So we just hung out at home for a while. Little 2 other favorite thing is watching excavator videos on You Tube. Now instead of fighting with him to be quiet and play while I am nursing Little 3 I just let Little 2 sit on the bed with us and we watch You Tube. We picked Little 1 up from school and went for our nap ride or our "N" as Little 1 calls it. I was worried that Little 2 would not fall asleep b/c Little 3 was awake. Little 2 looked really sleepy and then we saw a crane working on a billboard- which totally woke him up. But thankfully he did fall asleep. This afternoon the kids had a great time hula dancing! ha! There are some college kids that rent the house across the street from us. They invited the kids up to hula dance with them. It is kind of funny to watch, b/c these girls are really sexy doing their hula dancing, but then including the little ones was great fun! One of the renters was playing the ukulele. It was actually quite magical. The renters often are outside in the afternoons when all of the kids are out. They play the banjo and mandolin and the ukulele. The music- even though it's not perfect songs- fills the afternoons up. It just makes all this outside playing have a sparkle or something- b/c it's live and it's creative I guess. So eventually more kids showed up to hula dance. This was the first time we have really "hung out" with the renters. But it was sweet. Then at the best moment ever the ice cream truck showed up! Little 1's bff's dad treated all the kids to ice cream. Soon after that I was kinda frantically trying to get everyone ready for the graduation festivities. Little 1 must not have been feeling good- has a runny nose- so he was extra touchy. But we made it to the school on time. I am proud of the way I handled myself through all of the crying and chaos it took to get there. (thanks to our love and logic classes!!!) I tried to be empathetic. Once we were at the graduation I had NO idea that Little 1 was going to sing and entire song in the microphone! The spotlight was on him and he sang great! It was so so so precious! and they all did such a great job in their little mother goose play. Little 1 was a mouse! he had a cute costume and he sang Hickory Dickory Dock. He didn't miss a line, sang right into the microphone and he was right on pitch. The church was packed too- he wasn't nervous at all! It was a bittersweet evening, to say goodbye to our school. We drove by his new school on the way home. There was a sign out front that said "Greenville's most CREATIVE school" I could not be happier that he will be going to Stone Academy. I used to hear children playing at that school when I was a kid visiting an old lady who lived right down the street from Stone. I totally hated school- I don't know why- sometimes I worry that I might press those feelings into Little 1. But when I saw that sign tonight- and I know how creative he is- I just feel so blessed and happy. I LOVE his childhood! He is so perfect and innocent. With his blond hair and his little personality. He looks at the world with a bright smile on his face. Oh I want to keep him in his perfect bubble. I don't want him to ever be hurt. or spoiled. I love my little P's I am so thankful we were able to attend this Love and Logic training. If we apply it we will really help our children to own their problems, think and become responsible people. AND it helps me from getting angry and just yelling. I so want to be a loving kind generous but firm mother. Anyways. today was another great day. and tomorrow- they will be older...
Ah! I forgot to mention, I climbed up into Little 1's bunk bed tonight and snuggled with him while Daddy played guitar on Little 2's bunk bed. Normally I just kiss Little 1 goodnight on the side of the bed, but he grabbed me and whimpered don't go. So I climbed up (against bunk bed weight regulations!) and layed down with him. He liked doing all sorts of weird things to my face like poking my eyes and pulling my hair all over my face. But it was a moment for me to enjoy him just being him. Those quiet giggles and bright eyes. Sometimes Little 2 starts moaning (it is so weird/funny) Usually I go in and lay down with him in the dark and we snuggle and pray on his pillow. He wants me to sing "tomorrow is another day for you to laugh and run and play-with-your-shovel" tonight I gave him half a banana and said go night night! :)

Baseball
Memories I will tuck away- watching Little 2 run in the baseball stadium with his superman shirt on. So cute he kinda waddle runs with his arms down since he is only 2 1/2. Hearing Little 1 laugh wildly in my ear. I am tickling him until he can't breathe.
Today was beautiful-we drove to Atlanta to watch a Braves game with daddy's brother and sister in law. 2 1/2 hours in the car with 3 babies. Not too bad. I sat in the back and Little 1 got to ride in a special seat in the front seat. I think it must have been amazing to him to see a big city from the front of the car. I couldn't tell you a thing that actually happened with the baseball game! a baseball head mascot played with the boys, they ate snow cones and cotton candy. They walked to the very tippy top of the stadium and saw the city skyline and waved to itty bitty me in my seat. Their uncle bought them hats and foam tomahawks. While they were gone I saw a man jump over the wall into the field and run as fast as he could only to be tackled hard by security. Pretty funny. Then my sister in law and I were on the big tv screen! It was pretty eventful and fun. Little 3 slept and played on my lap. I held him to fall asleep out in the breezeway. He doesn't like to be hot. Then my sister in law told me she is pregnant! so excited for them! The Littles were a little rowdy on the way home but for the most part they did great today. I think they had a good time.

Saturday April 14, 2012
This week has been pretty usual. The kids are crazy around 3pm so every afternoon we go outside and play until I have o drag them in for dinner (usually around 7pm) they are starving and sad they can't play outside anymore so it is drama!
Today was interesting because we went to a pirate birthday party. I have decided to take people up on invitations to birthday parties because it is usually great FREE fun for my kids. So I dressed Little 1 and Little 2 up as pirates and we went to the Park Party. I strapped Little 3 on in the baby bjorn and helped Little 2 play with out getting hurt. They looked so adorable playing. Soon it was time for hotdogs so while Little 1 entertained the other party kids (he loves to make people laugh) I helped Little 2 eat. It was all fun and games until at the picnic table until Little 2 showed me his hand and said "poop" . That's when my heart sinks ugh. Thank God I had put a pullup on him- however, it was coming out the back. I quietly escorted him away from the table, sent Little 1 to the playground (which was closer to the car) and we went to the parking lot for my favorite kind of diaper change. I call it the "Walmart Diaper Change" I had to put Little 1 in the car seat, then make wiggly Little 2 stand still while I waited for cars to pass and to have some sort of privacy. I feel so redneck when I change a poop diaper in the back of my car in a parking lot for everyone to see. It was awful, I had to scrape his hands with wipes, pour sanatizer all over his hands, try to wipe it off of his shirt and shorts- it was just a little bit, but discusting to leave him in the same clothes. Little 3 was so patient. Little 2 was trying to climb over the seat, playing with whatever was in the backseat and I am trying to keep poop from getting everywhere and wondering if Little 1 is still ok on the playground. Little 2 has a recent breakout of eczema and it was all over his legs, I felt so bad for him. I tried putting a little bit of the lotion I had brought for Little 3's face on his legs. I was just frazzled. So we went back to the party. By then it was time to nurse Little 3, so I set up camp (thankfully I had a camping chair in the car with me) at a safe distance from the party kids. While I was nursing him I watched Little 1 pick Little 2 up and bounce him around. Little 2 liked this ( I am not a a close enough range to get their attention and tell them to stop) so Little 2 starts picking up other kids. Kids that are taller then him mind you, and of course they all go tumbling down. I am praying no one gets hurt. And I don't really know any of the parents at the party- which makes it even weirder. ha! So in writing this looks worse then in actually was- all the poop, and falling down. They ate cake had candy and dressed up like pirates and played on a playground. More then they would do if we were just at home. Daddy had gone for a bike race in Charlotte.
When we got home Little 2 was asleep in the car and Little 1 wanted to go straight back to playing with his bff. The afternoon wandered on daddy finally got home around 4:45 and I watched my sweet Little 1 running around with out his shirt on (his new favorite thing to do) muddy from the creek and absolutely beautiful. He loves his friends. Although the girls want him to kiss them lately... I am trying to explain germs and cooties to him- he is only 5! I think the only thing I really did today besides play/watch the babies is make some extremely low calorie chocolate cupcakes. But I did have to chronicle the craziness. I am glad I went to the party- I think they had fun, even though I was stressed a bit. I would rather them have the memory and the fun then stay home b/c I can't handle the possabilities. Little 1 is covered in scrapes and bruises, his fingernails (which are nubs b/c he bites them) have dirt embedded in the skin and I love it! It tells my heart that he is playing hard and having fun- like he should be. Little 2 is in love with this little tractor set I bought him the other day. He carried it around with him (in fact he might be sleeping with the "escavator" ) he also has a favorite shovel when we go outside. It is just his size and has the red ring around it (we have 2 of the same kind of shovel for digging holes at the beach and he only wants the one with the red ring around it) He carries that shovel everywhere! We have to watch our toes. Once he is old enough I know he will be playing as hard as Little 1 does. But for now he has to stay with me and dig and ride his motercycle (aka hot wheel) I made daddy come up with dinner tonight :) I was worn out from all that playing.

Monday April 9, 2012
I guess I should just jump right in. I am realizing that "this is it" ! My babies are growing up right now. I don't want to forget anything- or look back and wonder if I did everything I could, gave enough hugs and kisses. And they are so adorable- the things they say, do- get into. It should be documented for their sake. So here is an online journal of our life- our days.
Sweet little 3 is already 4 months old. Aside from having tummy troubles still he is the sweetest, happiest little baby. He is so patient and amused by what his brothers are into. When little 2 is a mess, little 3 just watches and waits. Little 2 had a hard time today. His 2 year molars are cutting through and I think it just puts him on edge. He is exactly 2 1/2 and what a mess. He growls when he cries, when he is mad and even when he is playing sometimes. He just has this gravel to his voice, especially when he is mad. It is pretty annoying. He is persistent like his daddy and eventually I cave. He has such a strong personality. But I love him to pieces. Today we started the day by running out to the backyard to finish planting some ferns and layout some pine straw. We had to do it pretty quick, Little 3 takes his best nap in the morning. So we all 3 ran outside and dug some holes. Little 2 and Little 1 played in the creek and looked for worms. Little 1 is ALL about his friends right now. His bff lives next door so soon he was asking to go play. Today is Monday- I usually do the laundry, but I was too excited about the ferns my dad gave me. I have been trying to finish planting the backyard and I can say that particular area is now finished (after about 3 weeks) Daddy built beautiful rock stairs leading down to the creek so it is much safer for the kids to get up and down the hill. So the majority of my day was spent outside planting. We just planted a river birch near the front of the house on Saturday. It has 3 trunks, I thought it symbolizes my 3 boys. House is full of dirty clothes, but my garden looks great!
At this point in life (and for the past 6 months I would say) Little 2 LOVES tools and tractors. He cries for screwdrivers and hammers and wrenches. I give in sometimes and let him carry a screwdriver around (how horrible and dangerous) but today it was a shovel. He knows the real thing to. Although he makes believe that nail clippers are his swiss army knife. crazy kid.
Little 1 is 5. He gave me a heart attack today. He knows the rules when he is playing outside, where he can go. I went to call for him and couldn't find him. I had to leave Little 2 inside asleep and go search for Little 1. I finally found him all the way at the end of the street with some neighbor friends. I was in a panic. I wasn't sure how to impress upon him how BAD that was. So I put him in the "thinking closet" a stall shower in the guest bathroom, for 5 minutes and then told him he couldn't play with his friends the rest of the day. Or course they all found him in the backyard a few hours later. Man. I have had dreams of him being taken, and there is just no room for error. He absolutely has to obey my outside rules. I hope he got the message, but I am not sure it was painful enough since he ended up playing with all of his friends in our backyard. Oh well. So today was pretty regular. I am trying to loose this baby weight too! arg. If I could just loose my appetite things would be perfect. But daddy and I are on this vegan kick (since I am off dairy for the baby) and I have been cooking (for the first time in my life) all of these amazing vegetable dishes. Most of them are even fat free and vegan. But I like to eat cookies at night. haha! All the Littles are asleep and I watch movies and eat brownies - however, they are made with stevia a tiny bit of sugar and pumpkin pie mix. I wouldn't serve them to anyone so I can't figure out why I am still a big mama. I am trying to kick it starting tonight. no more big belly! ha! We'll see. Hopefully Little 2 sleeps ok, we gave him meds for his teeth. He was an absolute mess when I kissed him goodnight.
